Kazan University team victorious in transport systems hackathon

The contest was held on 22nd – 23rd November.

The hackathon, titled “Intelligent Transport Systems and Elements of Situation Centers,” was co-hosted by the Institute of Computational Mathematics and IT, the Institute of Engineering, and local government agencies, Center for Road Traffic Safety and Research Center for Life Safety.

11 teams from around Republic of Tatarstan took part in the event.

The projects were submitted in the following categories:

Smart City;

Mobility in cities;

Driverless transport;

Fast response systems;

Elements of situation centers and traffic monitoring centers as tool for control and management of driverless vehicles;

Elements of situation centers as parts of public transit systems;

Elements of situation centers in healthcare;

Elements of situation centers for emergency response;

Information systems of situations centers as ways to support strategic decision making;

Elements of situation centers for fuel and energy facilities;

Elements of situation centers in new prospective types of activities.

The KFU’s team, called Zero, won with a project titled Real Time Cars Crash Detection.

All the students are currently enrolled in the Applied Informatics Program at the Department of Programming Technology.
