Over 400 people visited Kazan University's Popular Science Road Show in Apastovo, Tatarstan

The first such event took place on 25th October.

The participants of the show from KFU's side were accompanied by First Vice-Rector Riyaz Minzaripov. In his greeting, he emphasized that this large-scale initiative by KFU means to celebrate our alma mater's 215th anniversary and will visit 18 municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan.

After that, Deputy Head of the Apastovo District Executive Committee Luiza Safina extended her welcome to the organizers and the attendants. She congratulated the University on the occasion of its anniversary.

The road show comprised two lectures. The first, by Director of the Department of PR and Advertising Leila Mukhtarova, spoke about self-presentation and personal branding. Associate Professor Olga Kukushkina then elaborated on the Atlas of Future Professions, a recent publication covering 186 skills which will be in demand in 15 – 20 years.

Apart from the lectures, there were master classes and science shows in emergency medicine, chemistry, endoscopy, radioactivity, and optics. KFU Museum workers offered trivia quizzes. And, naturally, there was plenty of information about how to enroll in Kazan University. Vocal and dancing performances were also included.

Kamilya Bikkulova, 11th grade pupil, 'The lecture about future professions was very interesting. I plan to study finance and credit. Several of our high school graduates received this qualification.'

Dmitry Timergaleev, 10th grade pupil, 'I liked everything, but especially the chemical experiments. The volcano eruption was impressive.'
