The opening ceremony on 23rd September was attended by Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Services of Tatarstan Elmira Zaripova, Chairman of Tatarstan Branch of the Pension Fund of Russia Eduard Vafin, Vice-Rector for Engineering of KFU Nayil Kashapov, and others.

Deputy Chairperson of the Regional Office of the Russian Union of Pensioners Tamara Shamaeva commented, “Currently, over 7,000 senior citizens take classes in 18 areas each year. The most popular courses are IT literacy, financial literacy, psychology, ecology, law, and languages. I want to thank the faculty of Kazan Federal University.”

One of the new students, renowned local journalist Lyudmila Kolesnikova, noted, “In the last three years, I have taken German language, philosophy, and choir lessons. I was especially impressed by the quality of education. Philosophy lectures were the most memorable. We were taught by Vladimir Yurinov and Fanil Serebryakov. This year, I chose a course in healthcare and longevity.”
