Representatives of the 'PIXTA' company visited LIRS.

On the 12th of April the chief executive officer of the “PIXTA” company Ryo Kobari and chief strategy officer Kenji  Endo visited the Laboratory of Intelligent Robotics Systems (LIRS) of the Higher Institute of Information Technologies and Intelligent Systems (ITIS). This is their first visit to Russia. “PIXTA” stock photography agency is a leading Japanese web-site, which is focused on selling photos, vector artworks and video materials. Today this library contains more than 40 million images from more than 255.000 participants/subscribers. PIXTA images are used in various professional projects, such as advertisements, web-design, publications and TV programs. Professional and amateur photography would be an asset. Nevertheless, participants are necessarily ought to provide only high quality images. 
During the meeting a Head of laboratory Evgeni Magid and LIRS team told guests about the projects, implementing in the laboratory and highlighted the computer vision and imaging projects. Moreover, they showed the equipment, which is used by coworkers and students of LIRS. The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere; guests evaluated laboratory's working process and its modern equipment. In addition, the team and guests raised the possibility of automating the process of categorizing and picture processing, using image analysis and machine learning technologies that would lead to the further increase of productivity and improvement the company's work quality.
