Cooperation prospects discussed with Mongolian institutions

Archaeological research and Mongolian studies are the priorities for the nearest future.

A binational expedition to former domains of Uyghur Khaganate completed recently, and Kazan Federal University plans to create firmer ground for further cooperation.

Several meetings were held in Ulaanbaatar, namely, with Dalain Zayaabaatar (Director of the Higher School of Fine Arts and Natural Science, National University of Mongolia) and Chuluun Sampildondov (Chairman of the Global Association of Mongolian Studies). Both are interested in student exchange and joint publications.

According to Ramil Khayrutdinov, Director of the Institute of International Relations at KFU, the current objective is to revive Mongolian studies in Kazan. Historically, Kazan University was the first in Russia to offer Mongolian language courses.

The next round of negotiations is expected to happen during the 215th anniversary celebrations of Kazan University in November 2019. President of the National University of Mongolia Sanzhbegziyn Tumur-Ochir and President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences Dugeriyn Regdel were invited to attend the event.
