The first days of May are a special time in Russia. First we celebrate May 1st. This is traditionally a very important holiday, so important that even 3 days are announced as holidays. This year, the weekend was added to these three days, so our students and their teachers got a little vacation in five days. And many Russians use these days to work in their country huts: they clean up summer houses, dig the ground, plant in what they can plant. On May 9, Russia celebrates the very popular Victory Day: the day when the capital of Nazi Germany has been captured by the Soviet troops.
