Several chief editors visited on 24th April.
During the tour of four institutes, Dr. Gafurov spoke about the KFU’s signature innovation – distributed system of teacher education, where future teachers learn their competences both at their subject institutes and at the Institute of Psychology and Education.
At the Institute of Physics, the guests could see model classrooms for students with full simulation of real-world secondary school facilities. Rector noted that students can intern at KFU’s Lobachevsky Lyceum and IT Lyceum, two secondary schools which entered the top 100 in Russia in a recent ranking.
Of course, global rankings were also mentioned. KFU is currently number 101 – 125 in THE Education table and number 251 – 300 in the same category in QS. The university has become the first in publication activity in education in Russia.
The upcoming IFTE 2019 – Russia’s largest teacher education forum – also came up. The University will welcome top experts from around the world on 29th – 31st May.
In light of recent developments, it was also said that KFU is now a major center of preparing teachers for multilingual educational environment. The Institute of Philology and the Institute of International Relations will be in charge.
