Kazan University, Rosneft and BP announce new master program in petroleum engineering

The news was a part of Rosneft Days at KFU on 28th – 29th March.

The big event opened on Thursday, 28th. Rector Ilshat Gafurov welcomed the Rosneft delegation. 27 people arrived to study what KFU has to offer in petroleum extraction, refining, and petrochemistry.

As a part of the Days, students clashed in a simulation game – they were tasked to develop an oil company.

A job fair was also conducted. Young people could submit their CVs and communicate directly with the company’s top managers. Overall, more than 50 KFU students intern annually at Rosneft.

Finally, the trilateral consortium of KFU, BP and Rosneft presented the master program, due to start in September 2019. The curriculum will be provided by Kazan Federal University and Imperial College London. The oil companies will cover full tuition with a caveat of further employment of graduates. Experts will partake in recruitment and enrolment competition evaluation.

Several Rosneft specialists gave lectures, and 12 KFU students received personal scholarships from the oil powerhouse.
