International students' issues discussed with Youth Assembly of the Peoples of Tatarstan

Vice-Rector for General Affairs Rishat Guzeyrov and Director of International Office Olga Vershinina headed the meeting.

Dr. Guzeyrov spoke about the importance of preventing students from being involved in criminal activity. Representatives of ethnic community organizations should actively partake in students’ lives since day one, he opined, and added that university management is very interested in working together with them to hinder any illegal affairs and alleviate their consequences.

“If this happens, my doors are open for you, and we can solve your problem together. We can react appropriately and inform other institutions to handle the matter. Your compatriots should be fully aware that offering and soliciting bribes in Russia is inevitably punished,” he said.

Head of Youth Assembly Timur Kadyrov proposed to hold such meetings with the People’s Friendship Chamber every quarter.

Olga Vershinina then talked about planned student recruitment activities for 2019, including visits to expos in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and other countries.
