Memorandum of cooperation signed with Academy of Public Administration of Uzbekistan

Special focus was made on Islamic studies.

Rector Ilshat Gafurov welcomed the guests at KFU by presenting the University’s strategy and achievements.

In his response, Rector of APAU Rustam Kasimov mentioned that there are over 2,000 Uzbekistani students at KFU. Kazan University has active agreements with 19 research and educational institutions of Uzbekistan. Speaking about the developments in Tatarstan, he said, “We are interested in the experience you have. However, we don’t have a separate research institution tackling issues of public administration.”

Director of the Institute of International Relations of KFU Ramil Khayrutdinov spoke about Islamica Resource Center’s activities. Rector Gafurov proposed to unite efforts in Islamic studies, to which Dr. Kasimov readily agreed.

The signed memorandum covers questions of religious education, joint research, conferences, and academic mobility.
