EDUTECH technopark to be opened for advanced teacher training

Rector Ilshat Gafurov discussed future partnership details with General Director of ICL Victor Diachkov.

The planned facility should permanently host an exhibition of the latest educational technology, said Dr. Gafurov during the meeting on Monday, 25th February. “The idea came up at one of the meetings of pedagogical institutions. Equipment manufacturers contacted us and offered to supply and test their products here. We will add our methodological recommendations. The University is interested in this because the partners will further market and sell the resulting service,” he said.

The center plans to occupy the premises of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication. Deputy Director of the Institute of Psychology and Education Timirkhan Alishev opined, “The building and the institute are well-known to Kazanites, and the place has nice transport accessibility. An 800 square meter spot on the third floor has been allocated for the technopark. Its main objective will be to familiarize educators with modern educational equipment.”

The new facility will provide advanced training in educational technology and facilitate startups in this domain.

“I think the market today is software-oriented. Tablet screens become bigger, but what’s uploaded on them is much more important,” commented Victor Diachkov.
