In the morning, guests were invited to a special exhibition in the Lobachevsky Library.

Rector Ilshat Gafurov spoke about some of the latest research achievements while touring the exhibition with President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Marina Borovskaya.

Medical equipment experts presented a project of additive production of mesh implants. Further plans include production of photopolymers with bioceramics and bone replacement implants.

Astrophysicists were proud to show a selenocentric navigation system and a microsatellite-based network of near and far space monitoring.

Pharmaceutics Center told the visitors about its four completed medication research contracts (anti-tumor, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antifungal substances). Two more medications are expected to be major hits – one is a reverse transport inhibitor for breast cancer treatment, and the other one is an anti-inflammatory substance directed at musculoskeletal ailments. Both will be tested at the University Clinic.

Driverless vehicle researchers presented their technological advancements in computer vision, navigation, communications, sensors, and route computing.

Another project on display was a wide range spectral noise logging equipment for hydrocarbon extraction. Extraction has been known to increase 12 to 19 percent in various cases thanks to this technology. Local petroleum company Tatneft has tested it on over 40 wells and reported the decrease in water encroachment from 95 to 44 percent.
