Rector Ilshat Gafurov joined 8th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Machine Building Companies of Tatarstan

The discussion on 5th December was helmed by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

In his introduction, President Minnikhanov noted the importance of new competences in the emerging digital economy, “One of the major directions of raising the productivity of labor is developing export potential. The progress of scientific technology is dependent on personnel training. Our industry is interested in people who understand the principles of digital production.”

At KFU, engineering and technological education is mostly concentrated at the Institute of Engineering and Naberezhnye Chelny Institute. Among the key partners are KAMAZ and Ford Sollers, and cooperation is growing in driverless vehicle technology and digital engineering.

The meeting was held as a part of Machine Building and Metalworking Kazan 2018 expo. 180 companies from 5 countries joined the expo, including Belarus, Czechia, and Germany.

Among other things, Ford Sollers presented its achievements in implementing dual education systems in mechatronics. Frist certified experts received their credentials. Some vocational schools will introduce mechatronics into their curricula in 2019. KFU’s Yelabuga Institute contributed by introducing a retraining program for vocational school teachers.
