Yelabuga Institute celebrated 120th anniversary

A ball was held on 20th November.

120 years ago, Archdiocesan Women’s School was established in Yelabuga. During its history, the institution has changed names several times and graduated tens of thousands of professionals. It’s hard to imagine what the city of Yelabuga would like without its main educational center now.

“I want to congratulate you with this wonderful holiday, the 120th anniversary,” said Dr. Gafurov to the institute employees. “What we do here by inviting many international students is exerting soft power. Those who have lived with us for several years cannot become our foes. This is our objective, and we are working towards it.”

Yelabuga Institute alone has welcomed 2,400 of the 7,000 current international students at KFU. Many of them joined the celebratory ball.

Before the event, 53 best employees received various awards from the government, the university, and the municipality. “I am pleased to see that our students do not let us down. We always have something to be proud of. Thank you very much, my friends,” Director of the Yelabuga Institute Yelena Merzon told the audience.

The ball itself was held in the Yelabuga’s main cultural facility – the House of Culture.
