The conference was held on 3rd November at Kazan Eastern Orthodox Seminary.
The forum included panel sessions with participation from Kazan University employees. Among the discussed topics were the revival of the Kazan Cathedral of the Icon of the Holy Mother, historical topography of the Kazan Monastery of the Holy Mother, pilgrimage and religious tourism in Russia. The programs also comprised contributions pertaining to the axiological potential of the Icon of the Holy Mother, methodological approaches to Orthodox icon studies and Russian Renaissance, spiritual and cultural potential of the image and history of the Holy Mother in education and social dialog.
The participants toured the Seminary and visited the Church of Saint John of Kronstadt. Later, the plenary session saw contributions from Archbishop of Tatarstan Theophane, Minister of Culture of Tatarstan Irada Ayupova, and Vice-Rector of KFU Linar Latypov.
