PostGenome 2018 Conference

This year’s event is taglined “In Search of Models for Personalized Medicine.”

Kazan University is hosting the event for the third time. The conference was first held in Moscow in 2010 and is now travelling between the two cities on a rotating schedule.

Experts from Switzerland, Japan, Canada, Denmark, India, Germany and other countries have arrived. Rector Ilshat Gafurov welcomed them at the plenary session and elaborated on the University’s strategy in biomedicine. He mentioned that the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology is currently educating 1,700 students, 36% of whom are foreign nationals from 59 countries. The University Clinic serves 40 thousand local residents and is a technology transfer platform for research.

Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee, Head of the Institute for Physical-Chemical Medicine Vadim Govorun noted that the forum unites practitioners and scientists and expressed hope that they can help each other find new ways to translate research into everyday work.

The forum, taking up the week of 29th October – 2nd November, includes 10 panel session and several roundtables. Four sessions are dedicated to personalized medicine.
