This year’s gala was held on 25th October.
Over 8,000 students contributed to the preliminary and final stages of the event. The gala itself, as usual, was an elaborate two-hour performance with singing, dancing and theatrical performances.
The first ceremony of Galatea Prize, a new award show for student arts, was also held during the finals evening in five nominations.
As in 2017, the Grand Prix for small teams (up to 200 participants in the Freshman Day events) went to the Institute of Engineering. The Institute of Psychology and Education was triumphant in the middle group (between 200 and 400 participants). Finally, the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication was deemed the best among those with more than 400 contributors. Vice-Rector Riyaz Minzaripov congratulated everyone on behalf of the KFU management and reminded that the University has been the best in the provincial Freshman Day contests for four years in a row. The abovementioned winners will surely try to replicate that success this season.
The next big event is KFU’s birthday (17th November), so creative minds are already at work to dazzle everyone at the upcoming concert.
