Tatarstan Branch of Russian Professor Association to be headquartered at Kazan University

First Vice-Rector Riyaz Minzaripov was elected chairman.

As Chairman of the Russian Professor Association Vladislav Grib explained, KFU was chosen as one of the biggest and best universities of Russia. “Tatarstan Branch is going to become one of the leading in Russia,” he opined. He added that he feels very comfortable going forward with Dr. Minzaripov as a colleague.

Professor Mikhail Schelkunov, who presided over the inaugural gathering today, said that RPA has several dozen offices in the country, so it would be strange if Tatarstan was a region without a branch. The branch tasks itself with defending academic freedoms, spreading scholarly ethics, and providing expertise for the community, he commented.

Russian Professor Association was established in Moscow on 21st November 2016. Over 500 academics from all corners of Russia partook in that meeting, including university employees and members of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
