IEEE East-West Design & Test Symposium 2018

The first IEEE meeting in Kazan University's history is being held on 14th – 17th September.

During the opening ceremony on Friday, Rector Ilshat Gafurov said, “We have gone through periods of growth and stagnation in over 200 years of our history. After being renamed a federal university, we chose a new path and new development model with priority areas.” He further elaborated on the University 4.0 concept and emphasized the importance of digitization, the fourth pillar in that concept after education, science, and innovations.

In his greeting, Director of the Institute of Computational Mathematics and IT Sergey Mosin said, “Welcome to Kazan Federal University, one of the best in Russia. We have gathered here to discuss practical issues of computing and digital network and component design.”

The symposium aims at experience exchange among leading experts of Europe, North America, and other regions. In particular, digital systems on crystals are a focus of this year's convention.

156 papers were admitted to the conference program. They will appear in the IEEE Digital Library and main publication databases. The total number of contributors amounts to 463 individuals from 25 countries.
