Governor of Heilongjiang Wang Wentao found many reasons to strengthen cooperation with Kazan University

The Governor and his colleagues visited on 12th July.

They were accompanied by the Minister of Informatization and Communication of Tatarstan Roman Shaykhutdinov.

At the University, Vice-Rector Linar Latypov walked the guests through the History Museum, the Emperor Ballroom, and the Lenin Memorial Classroom. He also showed a brief presentation, mentioning that KFU currently hosts almost 800 Chinese students and has extensive cooperation links with over 20 universities of the country. Since 2012, KFU and Chinese peers have authored 341 joint papers.

The Governor answered, “There is demand in China for scientific and technological advancements. We are ready to cooperate in education, and especially in applications for scientific research.“

In his interview to our Media Center, Governor Wang also said,
“There are big prospects to widen cooperation between China and Kazan University. There are now nearly a thousand Chinese students here. I think the number will grow in the future. This growth will be a good foundation for the strengthening of traditional friendship between China and Russia; young people and the future of our countries. Kazan University will be especially attractive to Chinese students in its priority development areas.”
