Kazan Students Take Part in Moscow International Model UN 2013

February 21 – March 1 – Kazan team from the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations participated in the exciting role play conducted by Moscow State University.

During five days the students had to turn into official representatives of the UN members and international organizations, defend the position of the country they represented, but not their own one. The aim of each committee was to adopt a resolution.

The framework of the meetings included workshops with the authorities of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Director of the Department on New Challenges and Threats - Ilya Rogachev; and Head UN Liaison Office at Department of International Organizations - Sergei Kononuchenko. The guests clarified the scope of activities of the Ministry and the issues that may arise during the implementation of government projects; as well as the channels and directions of international cooperation in their subordinate agencies.
