Visit by Governor of Tyva Sholban Kara-ool

The governor arrived to Kazan University with two Tatarstani ministers.

Accompanied by Minister of Education and Science Rafis Burganov and Minister of Agriculture Marat Akhmetov, the guest met with Rector Ilshat Gafurov.

Tyva, which until recently didn't even have a railroad, has entered a period of steady industrial development. Therefore, the region needs qualified workers. “We are primarily interested in engineers, those who can fill in upcoming jobs. Can I educate my children at Kazan University? Honestly, I have long thought of enrolling in your institution myself.”

Interestingly, “my children” for Governor Sholban are all the children living in Tyva. He wants them to return to the homeland after their studies, having acquired the knowledge and the wisdom of the huge country. Tatarstan is a perfect fit for that.

Rector Gafurov noted, “Enrolment is, of course, regulated by the federal law, and we provide dorm accommodation for all incoming students. Our infrastructure is one of the best in the nation.”

Special allocation enrolment, where students will be obliged to return to Tyva after graduating to work for several years, is also possible if the two provinces reach an agreement.
