Shenzhen University may commission Kazanian mathematicians for process modelling

A delegation of the College of Mechatronics and Control Engineering is visiting Kazan.

Yesterday, the guests - Dean Wu Xiaoyu and Deputy Dean Gong Feng - met with Vice-Rector Dmitry Tayursky and Director of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics Maksim Khramchenkov.

Dr. Tayursky spoke briefly about the University's capacities and offered to discuss double diploma programs.

Dr. Khramchenkov commented on the visit, “Our Chinese colleagues have encountered a number of tasks which require mathematical modelling. We have a cooperation agreement, and we plan to implement double diploma programs. The Institute of Physics and the Higher School of IT may also be involved.

“Our experts plan to join several research projects. Firstly, it's heat and mass transfer in electronic devices, and secondly, hydrodynamics of compounds. As for electronic devices, heating processes in them are anisotropic and very complex, so our mathematicians will be involved in 3D modelling tasks to help alleviate possible problems. Modelling is also needed in calculations for new types of screens for mobile devices and computers.”

Incidentally, Huawei also dispatched its employees to KFU yesterday. The delegation was headed by Director of Moscow Research Center Liu Rui.  Vice-rectors Dmitry Tayursky and Linar Latypov, as well as IT researchers, represented the University.

Mr. Liu said, “We are looking for new partners in education and industry. We would like to cooperate closely not only with universities in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg, but also in Kazan. This is our primary goal here.”

The sides then talked about how to advance their work, including that of the joint educational center.
