Life of Genomes 2018 wrapped up

The international workshop was held on 22nd – 24th May.

The workshop, which is funded by a joint Russian-Japanese Grant of the Russian Science Foundation, aims to enhance partnerships and internal scientific communications.

Despite its short history, the workshop has become one of the brand events at Kazan University.

Head of Extreme Biology Lab Oleg Gusev, who has spearheaded the conference since day one, commented, “The meeting is held for the fourth time and was initially stimulated by the Russian Science Foundation grant. This year, the grant support ends, but we will continue organizing this workshop because it's a unique opportunity to gather researchers from leading laboratories which specialize in cells, tissues, and genomics in general.”

This year's list of contributors included Igor Adameyko (Karolinska Institutet, Sweden), Juha Kere (Karolinska Institutet), Mikhail Skoblov (Research Center of Medical Genetics, Russia), Chung Chao Hon (RIKEN, Japan), Peter Kharchenko (Harvard University), Hannes Lohi (University of Helsinki), Igor Efimov (George Washington University), Marina Lizio (RIKEN), Takahiro Kikawada (University of Tokyo), Genshiro Sunagawa (RIKEN), Jennie Jeyapalan (University of Nottingham), Aleksey Penin (Moscow State University), Fedor Kolpakov (Institute of Computational Technologies, Russia), Takahiro Yamada (Keio University), Daniil Popov (Institute of Biomedical Problems, Russia), Sergey Moshkovskii (Institute of Biomedical Chemistry, Russia), Yuliya Medvedeva (Center for Fundamentals of Biotechnology, Russia), and others.
