KFU and Digital Science signed cooperation agreement

The signatories on May 22nd were Rector Ilshat Gafurov and VP Academic and Government & Russia & CIS CEO Igor Osipov.

Digital Science is a knowledge database which monitors and analyses scientific publications. It now offers its capacities to Kazan University.

Vice-Rector Danis Nurgaliev said during the meeting that several institutes had already been cooperating with the company, and now it’s time to invite everyone else to join.

Director of the Lobachevsky Library Yevgeny Strukov will supervise the project on the University’s side. For the first time, all KFU publications in all subjects will be thoroughly analysed. There are plans to integrate this system with existing proprietary systems and to use it to enhance the statistical analysis in order to facilitate better visibility of publications on the global arena.

Rector Gafurov offered to test the software and then make conclusions closer to the end-of-year reports.

The agreement posits that Digital Science provides full access to its Dimensions program and key open and subscription-based resources. The University is in charge of educating personnel to work with the system. Together, the sides aspire to develop projects in publication analysis and statistics for further integration into digital economy.
