Ebrahim Raisi, Grand Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi Foundation, visited Kazan University

A sizable delegation from Iran arrived today.

Rector Ilshat Gafurov and other KFU executives welcomed the guests at the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies. As usual, the Rector spoke about the University in general and about its priority research areas. He mentioned that KFU is currently a home for 196 Iranian students, mostly in medicine, oil industry, and IT.

Vice-Rector Danis Nurgaliev presented the latest developments in petroleum science.

Mr. Raisi replied, “We are glad to be in your wonderful university and to hear this information from the Rector. If universities combine science, education, and economy, everyone wins. And those technological areas that you have chosen as priorities really seem beneficial. The Fourth Industrial Revolution that you have mentioned can help universities unite. Iran pays special attention to digitization and the new economy. We welcome those developments that have been made through joint efforts of Tatarstan and Iran.”

Astan Quds Razavi is one of the biggest foundations in Iran with a number of industrial facilities, educational institutions, and charity organizations under its governance. Thanks to today’s meeting, the foundation may soon join KFU’s promising projects in various fields.
