An agreement was signed today in Japan.

KFU's delegation is visiting the country on 18th – 21st April and is headed by Rector Ilshat Gafurov.

The signed document mentions a joint project in separation of metallic and semiconducting nanotube species from a feedstock of single-walled carbon nanotubes. Yazaki is a global vendor of automotive components and specializes in electric cables with enhanced conductivity. That’s why it is interested in research together with the Advanced Carbon Nanomaterials Lab – this research promises to elevate the quality of cable to a whole new level.

A preliminary agreement was reached in 2017, and this new contract extends cooperation for two more years. The sides may soon widen cooperation, based on the existing experience of the longtime KFU-RIKEN partnership. Both teams will visit RIKEN labs in Yokohama to hold further negotiations about research and funding.
