With the strong support of the Director of the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies Ramil Khairutdinov and the Director of the «Higher School of International Relations and Oriental Studies» Department Elmira Khabibullina, as well as at the initiative of the Director of the Center of Indian Studies, indologist Guzel Mratkhuzina and Hindi teacher Dmitry Bobkov, on March 28, 2018, the Indian guests met with the Russian colleagues.
The invited professor from India, Doctor Arun Srivastava, shared his impressions about his stay in Kazan as a co-director of the Center of Indian Studies at Kazan Federal University. The head of the Center «Tatarstan-India» at the House of Friendship of the Republic of Tatarstan Ishtiaq Ahmad defined the vision for further cooperation with the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies.
The nearest plans of the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies include further involvement of Indian experts in sharing their experience in enhancing the level of teaching Hindi and arranging scientific and practical internships.
The main emphasis was given to the coming International scientific and practical seminar «RUSSIA – INDIA: DIALOGUE OF LANGUAGES AND CULTURES» and the International round table «Russia – India: topical problems of crosslingual and intercultural communications», to be held on May 11-12.
The interdisciplinary international meeting with the renowned Indian scholars will aim to discuss the latest philological, historical, culturological, scientific and educational research in Indology, topical problems of long-standing and contemporary links between the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of India.
Following the meeting, it became clearly possible to find growth points and strengthen the cooperation, define opportunities and advantages of joint cultural and educational projects.
The Indian representatives stated that the Russian party will receive the necessary assistance in implementation of its initiatives. Today, after such assurances, we can count on a significant progress in the scientific and educational realms at Kazan University in the matter of continuing traditions of Russian Indology.
