Kazan University hosts 3rd Convention of Cadets of Investigative Committee

Over 200 secondary school students from Russian regions have arrived to participate.

Many local and federal officials joined a meeting at the Emperor Ballroom, including Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin, Head of the Division of Educational and Social Work of the Investigative Committee Sergey Petrov, Head of the Investigative Committee in Tatarstan Pavel Nikolaev, Rector Ilshat Gafurov, and others.

In his greeting, Rector Gafurov touched on the history of law studies at KFU, which started on the first day of its existence in 1804. Since then, the Faculty of Law has produced many notable statesmen. Prime Minister Pesoshin noted that independence and national security depend on the quality of education. He wished cadets good times in Kazan. Major General Petrov emphasized that patriotic education and upbringing are cherished by the country’s leadership, which is reflected in the growing number of law-specialized classes and secondary schools. He thanked Dr. Gafurov, Mr. Pesoshin, and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin for the warm welcome.

During the opening ceremony, employees and veterans of investigative agencies received awards and commendations. Representatives of other governmental bodies and nonprofit organizations who have excelled in patriotic education and law enforcement also received memorable gifts. Dean of the Faculty of Law Liliya Bakulina was among the latter group.
