Iranian guests met with interested parties at the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies (IIRHOS).

Vice-Rector Linar Latypov and Consul General of Iran in Kazan Alibeman Eghbali Zarch were present.

The University was established in 1992 to promote understanding among Muslims and create a positive atmosphere in interdenominational relations. URD graduates experts in fiqh, kalam, Quran studies, history of Islam, and Islamic mysticism for religious establishments, cultural centers, and education. Its alumni are in high esteem in Iran and around the Muslim world. The University currently comprises three faculties – Faculty of Fiqh and Law of Islamic Denominations, Faculty of Quran and Hadith, and Faculty of Kalam, Philosophy and Religions. Undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD courses are available.

All this makes URD an interesting prospective partner for KFU – one of the federal centers in Islamic studies. During yesterday’s meeting, the sides discussed academic mobility, joint programs, and research. After making specific plans of cooperation, IIRHOS management intends to pay a return visit to Qom.
