Traditional prizes were given out yesterday to celebrate the upcoming International Women's Day.

The award was established by the KFU Women's League several years ago. Women of the University nominate and vote for their peers in several nominations, with men also included in three.

In the opening speech, First Vice-Rector Riyaz Minzaripov said, “Today is the most wonderful holiday of the year. From the depth of my heart, I congratulate you on this occasion.”

He was the one honored with the opportunity to give the Woman of the Year 2018 award to Professor Asya Aminova (Institute of Physics, Department of Relativity Theory and Gravity). She is one of the longest-serving educators of the Institute. In the course of her career, Professor Aminova has made valuable contributions to field theory and studies of relativistic objects and space substrates. Notably, she received the Tatarstan State Prize in Science and Technology this year.

Vice-Rector Raisa Mullakaeva then gave awards to men.
