On 2nd March, talented and ambitious young women gathered in UNICS to determine the winner of this year’s pageant.
The contest united representatives of all the institutes – 22 students aged 18 to 25. As evident from the title, only unmarried contestants were eligible.
The pageant included all the standard events – runway walks, self-introductions, Q&A, and a talent show.
The Q&A sessions, as usual, included some pretty tricky tasks. Not many of the competitors knew the discriminant formula, which was expected. More surprisingly, lots of the young women also didn’t remember which star is closest to the Earth or what is measured in amperes.
The self-introduction part also produced some funny moments. One of the finalists was so nervous that she mentioned “breakfast, lunch, and dinner” among the traditions that she would teach her kids. Another unexpectedly opined that Kazan (famous for its abundance of sports facilities) needs a new stadium because “people need new places.” Traditionally, most of the answers mentioned family values and environmental awareness.
In the end, the main prize and the crown went to Mariya Ivanova (Institute of Engineering). The First Vice Miss KFU title went to Diana Zhurova (Institute of Management, Economics and Finance), and the Second Vice Miss – to Arina Migranova (Institute of Social and Philosophical Sciences and Mass Communications).
There were also other nominations, such as Miss Talent, Miss Intelligence, Miss Fitness, Miss Smile, Miss Friendship, Miss Photo, and Miss Charming.
