University Hospital Regensburg unites over 30 divisions and 5 research institutions in major fields in medicine. A team of 4 thousand professionals is renowned for its work in urology, oncology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Among the primary current fields of research are immune pathology, metabolism, colon diseases, and Transplantology. The Hospital services 30 thousand inpatients and 110 thousand outpatients annually.

The Russian guests met with the Head of the Orthopaedics Department. They toured the facilities and witnessed ongoing procedures.

During the second part of the visit, Director of the Urology Department Wolf F. Wieland accompanied the KFU executives around his workplace.

The negotiations concluded with agreements on several subjects, in particular, joint educational programs, internships at Regensburg, and research in regenerative medicine and noninvasive methods for orthopedics and urology.

Master classes by German experts are planned to be held at the Kazan University Clinic.

The team’s visit will last for two more days and cover other aspects of university medicine.
