University Visited by Minister of Education and Science of Russia Olga Vasilyeva

The Minister was a part of the delegation headed by President Vladimir Putin on January 25th.

Ms. Vasilyeva started her trip at Paris Commune Street where several labs are situated (in genetic therapy, additive technologies, and pharmaceutics). Chief Research Associate Albert Rizvanov presented his work. The Minister was especially interested in how the University recruits and retains young talent. Comments on the matter were provided by Rector Ilshat Gafurov and his colleagues. The delegation then proceeded to the University Clinic's 2nd building.

After that, the Minister moved to the Institute of Psychology and Education to familiarize with the pedagogical education system. Joined by the Minister of Education and Science of Tatarstan Rafis Burganov, Vice-Rector Dmitry Tayursky, and Director of the Institute Aydar Kalimullin, she visited the Center for Master’s Programs and the Center for Teaching Practices of Preschool and Elementary Education. The Minister also saw classrooms, interactive practice rooms, a theater training room, a technical teaching assistance room, and several labs, including model classrooms for chemistry and physics. Head of the Center for Teaching Practices Venera Zakirova spoke about her experience and showed some of the equipment and classroom items for kids.

Ms. Vasilyeva expressed her content with what she had seen and noted that such an infrastructure, rather regrettably, is still unseen in Russia.

The guest was then accompanied to the student canteen and commended the renovations and the overall atmosphere of the facility.

This was the longest visit by Minister Vasilyeva so far. Apart from executives, she was also able to exchange opinions with the University staff.
