Russian Student Day Celebrations

Traditional festivities were held at KFU on January 24th.

This year, the holiday was stylized in Japanese customs and memorabilia to honor the Year of Japan in Russia. Guests of the event were Rector Ilshat Gafurov, Tatyana Vodopyanova, Chairwoman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Tatarstan, and Tatyana Larionova, Executive Director of Revival Foundation.

In the UNICS hallway they were met by a small expo of cultural items and handmade things presented by international students.

After proceeding to the concert hall, Rector Gafurov congratulated everyone, “Dream and be ambitious in your dreams – this is how you achieve everything. Good luck and success to you, and thank you for choosing our wonderful Kazan Federal University.” He also noted that the celebration was moved from the 25th – the actual Tatyana Day – because of the upcoming visit by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Among other things, he will attend the Together Ahead Forum, where 900 KFU students will partake.

The congratulations were also provided personally by the Minister of Education and Science of Tatarstan Rafis Burganov and Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs and Sport of Tatarstan Rustem Garifullin.

The concert itself was compiled by students and comprised comedy, dance, and singing parts.
