19-year-old Kamila Bikkinyaeva came ahead of 14 contestants, including 3 of her peers from Kazan University.

Minister of Youth Affairs and Sport of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov noted that there had been 200 applications for the competition, but only 15 had been approved.

The contest included several traditional stages: self-introduction, arts (dance, speaking, athletics), runway walk, and trivia quiz. The latter provided quite an amusement for the audience because not all of the contestants gave correct answers.

Almost an hour was spent by the jury behind closed doors in a heated discussion. The competitors gathered on stage in evening gowns to listen to the verdict.

In the end, it was announced that Kamila Bikkinyaeva is the winner and will represent Tatarstan later at the federal pageant. Ms. Bikkinyaeva is very keen on sports – she devoted 12 years of her life to rhythmic gymnastics. She currently partakes in a university dance team and is also a member of an aesthetic gymnastics crew. She has recently started to give lessons in stretching.

Other finalists from KFU also left with awards: Miss Grace for Aygul Sungatullina, Miss Online Beauty for Kamila Shamsutdinova, and First Student Beauty for Marina Andryushkina.
