Kazan University Is 14th among Classical Universities in Social Navigator Rankings

The ranking is run by International Information Agency Rossiya Segodnya.

This time, the research included 448 Russian universities. The main criteria are graduate employment, commercialization of intellectual products, and research output.

All the universities were ranked by categories, with 127 in engineering, 54 in agriculture, 61 in management and public administration, 69 in humanities, 48 in medicine, and 89 classical universities.

KFU has 27.7% of alumni who received job offers, 21.89% of commercialization of intellectual products, and a citation index of 18. The leader among classical universities is Moscow State University.

As the tables show, agriculture majors are the most sought-out by employers – 68% receive recommendations for a particular position immediately upon graduation. The worst ratio, as expected, is for management and public administration universities (law, economics, finance) – 28.6%. Unsurprisingly, engineering universities came on top in research income, whereas citation indexes showed very little differentials for all categories.

As Project Manager of Social Navigator Natalya Tyurina noted, this year’s rankings reflect the ongoing consolidation processes in Russian higher education. Many renowned universities are conspicuously absent from this iteration because they were merged with others.
