Delegation of North Rhine-Westphalia

Officials of the Ministry of Culture and Science of Germany's most populous state arrived on November 22nd.

The delegation comprised Head of the Ministry's Section for International Cooperation Heidi Cordier and her colleague Yekaterina Karpushenkova. They were welcomed by Vice-Rector Linar Latypov and other KFU employees.

As is customary, Dr. Latypov showed a presentation of the University and talked about its infrastructure. Ms. Cordier thanked him for a warm welcome and offered help in establishing links with the universities of North Rhine – there are 72 of them. Ms. Karpushenkova noted that her employer is in charge of maintaining direct contacts among academics of her state and other countries. “It's important for us to have working cooperation, not just paperwork”, she emphasized. Vice-Rector Latypov agreed that it will be most comfortable to arrange meetings between young scientists of both sides (5 – 6 people in each group) for joint projects and publications.

Following the visit, the guests went to the History Museum.
