Takeaways from the 1st International Seminar on Advanced Calorimetry

The seminar was held on October 19th – 20th by the Institute of Chemistry.

Guests of the event represented University of Rostock, Sapienza University of Rome, Samara State Technical University, and Prokhorov General Physics Institute. Among the contributors there were four members of the editorial board of Thermochimica Acta, the oldest journal on calorimetry and thermochemistry.

First results of the KFU Fast Scanning Calorimetry Lab, headed by Christoph Schick, were also presented.

Aleksandr Minakov, Senior Research Associate of the Prokhorov Institute, shared his impressions, “I was very glad to see that many young scientists and students took part in the seminar. Interesting works were discussed, including experiments with a new promising method of ultra-fast scanning calorimetry. Many of the results shown by young scientists have been achieved by the Fast Scanning Calorimetry Lab, the first of its kind in Russia. I hope that this new method will be developed in Russia.”
