On September, 19th, 2017 Volga Region Center for Advanced Training and Professional Retraining of Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University held an All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference «Mathematic Education: From Aptitude to Capability».
More than 150 educators took part in the conference: teachers of Mathematics of secondary schools, primary education teachers, supplementary education teachers and kindergarteners from the Republic of Tatarstan and territorial entities of the Russian Federation (Samara district, Kirov district, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republic of Chuvashia, the Republic of Udmurtia, The Sakha (Yakutia) Republic).
On-line participation was made possible by the organizing committee for those education workers who are unable to participate intramurally. Plenary session took place online.
Plenary session covered current issues of children’s aptitude and continuity between preschool educational organizations and primary school, as well as between primary school and general secondary education. Vice-rector for educational activities Tayurskii Dmitrii Albertovich addressed the conference participants with an opening speech. Director of Volga Region Center for Advanced Training and Professional Retraining KFU Shajhelislamov Rais Falihovich made a report “Main factors of development of mathematical aptitude of students in the context of secondary education organization” and mentioned all the key topics of the conference.
The following problems were discussed at respective subpanels:
Subpanel 1. Interaction between the participants of educational relations and the development of logical thinking among the children of preschool age.
Subpanel 2. Theory and practice of working with gifted children – primary school students.
Subpanel 3. Best practices in discovering and developing mathematical capabilities of children in the context of a secondary education organization.
The participants of the conferences noted the significance of the conference’s theme, high organizational level and scientific character of its content.
