3rd Kazan Summer School on Chemoinformatics

The School is taking place on July 5th – 7th.

This traditional event is supervised by the KFU Chemoinformatics and Molecular Modelling Lab.

Chemoinformatics is a relatively new discipline working on mathematical models for chemical applications. It concentrates on compound structure, properties of materials, conditions and selectiveness of chemical reactions, and other specific areas. Kazan University was the first in Russia to open a separate master program in chemoinformatics in 2012. The partner institution for the program is University of Strasbourg.

This 3rd School is attended by 9 international and 10 Russian academics, two of the latter from KFU. The conference is organized in collaboration with the Mendeleev Russian Chemical Society. Students of several countries have arrived to partake and make contributions.

The main topics of the School are:

Basics of chemoinformatics and QSAR approaches;

Sources of chemical information, its storage and retrieval;

SAR/QSAR/QSPR modelling;

Structure-based drug design.
