European Union Delegation and Cultural Attache of the Embassy of Mexico

A number of foreign diplomats visited Kazan University on June 16th.

The EU team was headed by Tomas Pospisil, Political Officer of the Delegation of the EU to Russia. It included representatives of the embassies of Bulgaria, Czechia, Estonia, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, as well as of the Consulate General of Hungary in Kazan.

KFU was represented by Vice-Rector Linar Latypov, academics from different institutes, and employees of the administration.

The two-hour discussion turned out to be very frank and straightforward. The guests asked many questions about ethnic and religious relations, politics and economy of Tatarstan, counterterrorism and anti-extremism efforts, migrant policy, and academic programs pertaining to all of the abovementioned issues. Dr. Latypov and KFU representatives answered everything to the best of their ability.

Cultural Attache of the Embassy of Mexico Jorge Reynoso Pohlenz was greeted by Director of the KFU International Office Andrey Krylov. Mr. Pohlenz then talked about the cooperation between KFU and Mexican universities with the University management.
