Social Infrastructure Discussed at the 2nd Regional Social Innovation Forum in Moscow Oblast

KsFU's expertise is presented by Vice-Rector for Innovation Andrey Artemyev.

The Forum is organized by the Council of the Federation, Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Russia, Government of Moscow Oblast, and Agency for Strategic Initiatives. The headliners are Chairwoman of the Council of the Federation Valentina Matvienko and Governor of Moscow Oblast Andrey Vorobyov. Among other major contributors at the opening on June 8th were Vice-Premier Olga Golodets, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Maxim Topilin, Minister of Healthcare Veronika Skvortsova, and Minister of Education and Science Olga Vasilyeva.

Vice-Rector Artemyev in his report touched on regional infrastructure of social entrepreneurship support and business activities of nonprofits – both facilitated with the assistance and expert consultations of Kazan University.

The Tatarstani model was praised as the best in the Volga Federal District in the summer of 2016 by Presidential Envoy in the District Mikhail Babich. In April 2017 this model was showcased to the Council of the Federation during the Infrastructure for Social Nonprofits Session and was supported by Vice-Chairwoman of the Council Galina Karelova. Director of the Department of Strategic Development and Innovation of the Ministry of Economic Development Artyom Shadrin specifically commended Tatarstan and Kazan University for their comprehensive educational and intellectual infrastructure of social innovation.

The Forum is attended by delegations from all 85 federal subjects, employees of social service institutions, healthcare, education, nonprofits, commercial entities, academia, municipalities, and government – over 1,500 persons in total.
