The meetings took place on May 22nd.

The delegation comprised FCO Chief Scientific Adviser Robin Grimes, Head of the Science and Innovation Network Russia Gareth Wynn Owen, Director of the British Council Russia Michael Bird, and Senior Adviser of the Embassy Tatyana Yakovleva.

The visitors met with Vice-Rector for Education Dmitry Tayursky, who gave a brief presentation of the University's current affairs and its links with the colleagues in the United Kingdom.

The team later proceeded to the Institute of Physics and the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies.

As well as the previous such meetings in 2017, this was a part of the UK-Russia Year of Science and Education.
