Hebrew Studies at KFU

Center of Judaica and Middle Eastern Studies at the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations started courses of the official language of Israel. 27 students at Kazan Federal University expressed their desire to learn Hebrew.

February 14 - First Secretary of the Embassy of Israel Shlomo Voskoboynik and Vice Rector for External Affairs Linar Latypov designated an official opening ceremony.

Scientific and educational center of Judaica and Middle Eastern Studies was established relatively recently (in September 2012) with a purpose to train specialists in the field of scientific Judaika therefore it includes not only learning the Hebrew language, but also the study of Semitic ethnic roots, theoretical and applied research, study of politics and economy of Israel and the Middle Eastern problems, consideration of common areas of Arab and Jewish cultures.

Shlomo Voskoboyjnik. In his turn underlined that the idea of the center at KFU is a symbol of peace in itself: "Peace in our understanding is when different people understand each other, and we do our best to create this concentrated world here".
