Russian Language Center Will Be Run by Kazan University in Cuba

Representatives of the Embassy of Cuba visited the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies on March 15th.

The delegation was headed by Consul Juan Carlos Galban Prieto. The guests toured the Institute and its labs, met with Cuban students, and held talks with vice-rectors Danis Nurgaliev and Linar Latypov.

Director of the Center for Advanced Training Ildus Chukmarov presented English-language master programs and bilingual advanced training programs. Several Cuban postgraduates have already enrolled in the former.

Consul Prieto said, “We are very glad that our oilers have the opportunity to study here. We have seen them, and they are all totally elated – by the educators and by the attention given to them in whole. Our Embassy tells everyone about your university as an example of hospitality”.

Vice-Rector Latypov said the Russian Language Center will be opened in Cuba by Kazan University in just a couple of months.

Vice-Rector Nurgaliev talked about ongoing cooperation, “We are now working together with Zarubezhneft on their deposit in Cuba. I think that will not be the last our project in your country. It was not long ago that we participated in a meeting of the National Committee for Cooperation with Latin American countries and became one of the bases for educational cooperation with Colombia, Venezuela, and Cuba”.

Another instance of cooperation with Cuba is that with the leading companies. For example, 22 Cupet employees received training from KFU experts in Havana in September 2015. The University is ready to make similar proposals to Cuban partners.
