Tatar National Pedagogy Center Opened at the Institute of Psychology and Education

The Center will concentrate on Tatar language programs for schoolteachers.

Students who enroll in Russian teacher education programs will later receive special training in Tatar language. The Center plans to gather students of different majors to prepare them for work in Tatar language schools. The first such group was already handpicked by the Ministry of Education and Science of Tatarstan.  Master programs will also be available soon.

The new model of teacher education at KFU is based on the latest developments from across the nation as well as from the UK, the Netherlands, the USA, and Germany. This model has been assessed and praised by our colleagues from pedagogical associations and from universities of Oxford, Glasgow, and Dublin.

As we have mentioned in our publications, Kazan University utilizes both the traditional (linear) and the distributed system of teacher education. The latter is spread across specialized institutes where future teachers learn everything with their non-pedagogical peers and then go on to receive special training at the Institute of Psychology and Education specifically for their profession.

Practical training for young teachers is held at many partner schools, including, naturally, the KFU IT Lyceum and the Lobachevsky Lyceum, two top-tier secondary schools run by the University. The Center employees also take internships and partner projects all across Russia.
