Vice-Rector Latypov Has Held Meetings with Foreign Guests

The two represented countries were Israel and China.

Yang Zhi, Adviser to the Rector of Henan University, met with the Vice-Rector on September 1st. Gulsum Azimova, a KFU employee, has been working there for more than a year now teaching Russian. The two sides agreed to exchange students – 5 Russians will go to China, and 15 Chinese learners will arrive to KFU.

Alex Kagalsky, Counsellor of the Israeli Embassy, came to visit on September 2nd. Also present were Director of the School of Journalism and Media Communications Leonid Tolchinsky, Director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies Roman Penkovtsev, and Associate Professor of the Institute of Philology Olga Karasik.

The Embassy showed its interest in supporting the Center for ME Studies in ongoing research. A joint Russian-Israeli master program in international journalism (focused on the Middle East) will also be established.
