The Spanish rankings system has unveiled its estimations for 2016.

Kazan University has risen 6 positions in the national rankings and 34 positions globally since 2015. KFU is also 14th among all research organizations in Russia (including non-educational entities).

SCImago is based on three groups of indicators: publications, patents, and media activities (represented by external links to KFU domains).

This year's ranking includes over 5,000 institutions, 138 of which are from Russia (among them 41 universities). There are separate rankings for private institutions, health research organizations, and government-funded research entities.

SCImago is currently widely regarded as one of the five most reputable academic rankings systems in the world.
