New Production Facility Opened at Tatpharm

Rector Ilshat Gafurov was among the visitors

A new shop floor for ointments, gels, and drops production was unveiled on July 4th.

This is the first such line in Tatarstan. Ketoprofen and diclofenac – the first two gels to be produced – were enhanced thanks to the research made by Kazan University and Tatpharm. These new products are significantly cheaper than imported analogs, and preliminary consumer tests have proved to be favorable.

The line’s output is up to 20 million packages a year. There are plans for further widening of the production range. Our researchers’ lips are for the most part sealed because of the sensitive nature of such developments, but Director of the Pharmacy Education and Science Center of KFU Yury Shtyrlin confirmed that an antifungal gel is in the works. It will also be much more affordable than current offers in the market, and, moreover, it is a completely new medication made from scratch, unlike ketopforen and diclofenac.
